Severe bullying, his encounter with music and the dilemmas it brought, and a painful past in which he contemplated suicide all form part of his story. Even when repeated hardships seemed to close every path, he never stopped writing. The words he found at rock bottom continued to captivate fans, eventually leading to a successful solo concert at the Nippon Budokan.

Additional interviews filmed for the documentary reveal previously unspoken feelings towards his father, his response to a dramatically changed world and his hopes for the future.
