Every male clan member subjected to it went insane afterward. The procedure succeeded only in some women who possessed a form of antibody; the rest died.

This tragedy gave the blood its name, Baneful Blood. From then on, the clan called itself the Baneful Bloodline.

The blood relatives of the founders—the sisters—carried the strongest concentration and formed the main family. Those who inherited an artificial bloodline almost identical to that of the founding sisters formed the branch families.

The branch families later became obsessed with producing blood stronger than the main family's.
