It was once a poor country with a small population and no contact with other nations, but everything changed when a civilization of machines was discovered in nearby ruins. Now everyone in town enjoys a prosperous life.

One alchemy workshop stands quietly in this town. It used to do reasonably well, but perhaps because the machines have made everyone wealthy, or perhaps because its lazy owner never does any work, it no longer attracts a single customer.

One day, a messenger from the kingdom arrives at the atelier with a warning: unless it can prove within three years that it is doing its job properly, its business license will be revoked.

After hearing this, the owner remains as unmotivated as ever. Monsters have lived in its surrounding lands since ancient times, so adventurers took requests from the kingdom and its people to defeat them and explore.
