Hotei narrates throughout, revisiting his experiences from both his past and present perspectives.

The film also follows his relationship with music during the pandemic. Self-shot footage from his London home during lockdown and candid moments behind the scenes of his audience-free Nippon Budokan stream in January 2021 reveal the conflicts he faces as a person as well as a musician. His determination to overcome the circumstances and act on what he believes an artist should do offers encouragement and a glimpse of the future beyond his fortieth anniversary. Alongside its portrait of a rock guitarist’s life, the documentary traces four decades of Japanese rock, from its early years to the present.

Additional material includes the complete GUITARHYTHM performance from GUITARHYTHM LIVE 1988, newly mixed for the film and only partly shown in its opening, previously unreleased documentary footage, a teaser and a trailer.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0997/9700/8749/files/hobbytiger-media-tomoyasu-hotei-still-dreamin-standard-edition-blu-ray-01.jpg?v=1793397194
