Carrying old wounds, Kiko moves from Tokyo to a house in a seaside town. There she meets an abused boy called Mushi who can no longer speak. Having herself suffered abuse and exploitation by her family, she cannot leave him alone and begins living with him. The boy, who once had neither dreams nor a future, develops a single wish. Determined to fulfill it, Kiko remembers her irreplaceable days with Ango, who heard her own voiceless cry for help and rescued her, but whom she can no longer see. She rises again to hear the voice she could not hear before.
