A Couple of Cuckoos Anime

Lives and love collide! The hugely popular romantic comedy serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine receives its long-awaited television anime adaptation.

A Couple of Cuckoos is the hit manga by Miki Yoshikawa, creator of Flunk Punk Rumble and Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches, serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine. A boy and girl switched at birth become engaged and start living together. A classmate and the boy's younger sister join the story, creating a four-way relationship between distinctive, appealing characters that captured readers' hearts from the start. The manga continues to receive successive reprints, and the eagerly awaited romantic-comedy anime began in April 2022.

Story High-school student Nagi Umino was switched at birth and is finally about to meet his biological parents. That day, he happens to meet Erika Amano, a student at an elite girls' school. To prevent her marriage to her fiancé, she all but forces Nagi to pretend to be her boyfriend. But these two are the children who were switched, and they are also the promised couple! Their parents, who love both children, approve their engagement, and Nagi and Erika begin living together. Nagi is in love with his classmate Hiro Segawa, while Erika rebels against her father. They agree to stay out of each other's affairs, beginning a mismatched, chaotic romantic comedy of intersecting lives.
