A Happy Marriage Blu-ray Box

Celebrity lawyer Kotaro Harada has built a successful career winning sensational cases and appearing on television, while remaining firmly single for fifty years. After collapsing during a televised debate, he survives a hospital stay but finds himself painfully alone, with no parents or visitors to turn to. A chance encounter in a lift introduces him to Nerura Suzuki, a mysterious art teacher who abruptly hands him a paper bag and disappears.

Kotaro cannot forget her. On the day he leaves hospital, she unexpectedly reappears and invites him home. Convinced that their meeting is fate, he marries her and moves into the apartment building where her father, younger brother and uncle each occupy another floor. Weekly family dinners and the Suzuki family's closeness initially unsettle a man accustomed to solitude, yet he gradually begins to belong. Then the secrets Nerura has kept start to emerge, threatening the ordinary married life he thought he had found.

Sadao Abe and Takako Matsu reunite as a married couple in Shizuka Oishi's original suspense drama, directed by Hiroshi Kurosaki, Kazunari Hoshino and Rei Narakino. The supporting cast includes Rihito Itagaki, Reo Tamaoki, Satoshi Kanada, Yosuke Sugino, Keiko Horiuchi, Kazushige Komatsu, Takashi Okabe and Yasunori Danta. Hiroko Sebu composed the score, with Oasis's Don't Look Back in Anger as the theme song.

The four-disc Blu-ray box contains all nine episodes, approximately 405 minutes, and 103 minutes of extras. These include behind-the-scenes footage, the cast appearance event, a public podcast recording, Oishi and Abe's production presentation, a special Abe interview and a joint interview with Abe and Matsu. Japanese Linear PCM stereo audio accompanies the series, with Japanese subtitles for the main episodes.
