A Misanthrope Teaches a Class for Demi-Humans Vol. 3 contains episodes 9-13, promotional videos, commercials and web episode previews. The school drama follows a former teacher who has lost his trust in people but finds himself teaching students who want more than anything to become human.
After a painful experience leaves him isolated and unemployed, Rei Hitoma has no intention of returning to teaching. An advertisement seeking a teacher who cares about students prompts an impulsive application, and he soon accepts a position at a secluded mountain school. His pupils turn out to be demi-human girls studying how to become human. Their longing for the very people he dislikes forces Rei to question what he has rejected.
Kyoka Minazuki is a positive, helpful mermaid who wants human legs so she can dance. Isaki Ogami, a quiet werewolf, wants to escape the feeling of being caught between two kinds of existence. Rabbit girl Sui Usami hopes to repay the people who have cared for her, while bird girl Tobari Haneda wants to pursue music. Through their different ambitions, Rei begins to learn about humanity alongside his students.
Toshiki Masuda voices Rei, Sora Amamiya voices Kyoka, Saori Onishi plays Isaki, Maria Naganawa plays Sui and Rui Tanabe plays Tobari. Manami Numakura, Misato Fukuen, Reina Ueda, Yui Ishikawa and Yui Horie complete the principal cast. Akira Iwanaga directs the adaptation of Natsume Kurusu's work, with series composition by Katsuhiko Takayama, character design by Maiko Okada, music by Makoto Miyazaki and animation by asread.
