AD-LIVE Stage & Musicals

Kenichi Suzumura's improvised stage production AD-LIVE 2022 comes to video with the September 17 performances starring Junya Enoki, Nobunaga Shimazaki and Yoshihiko Aramaki. The two-disc set contains the daytime and evening performances separately.

A miraculous moment no one can foresee. A unique stage play woven entirely through improvisation. AD-LIVE features many popular voice actors, with Kenichi Suzumura as general producer. Last year's AD-LIVE 2021, themed if: Public Faces and True Feelings, attracted considerable attention with the series' first two-act format.

This year's theme is an exhilarating ensemble drama. Each performance's three main cast members take on a colorful, variety-filled challenge: improvising a live television broadcast. Characters A and B are played by a total of twelve voice actors, including five making their AD-LIVE debut. Character C is played by a lineup consisting of one legendary voice actor and five actors active across 2.5-dimensional theater, television dramas and film, all making their first appearance. Look forward to unpredictable drama born on that day, in that place, at that very moment.

The story is set at AD-TV, Akarui Dondon Television. On the day of a live program produced by the entire station, just as the broadcast nears its end, a staff member who has long been dissatisfied with work suddenly disappears. It turns out that the footage intended for the program has been deleted. Three people happen to be present at this desperate crisis: Character A, a production staff member who absolutely cannot fail; Character B, a mysterious person who appears at the scene; and Character C, a participant in the program who harbors a secret feeling.

The hastily assembled trio must face the crisis together. They were never supposed to meet, or perhaps they were destined to meet. Can they overcome this emergency? Carrying their own feelings, their struggle on live television begins.

The set includes a special booklet, audio commentary and bonus commercials and promotional videos. Junya Enoki, Nobunaga Shimazaki and Yoshihiko Aramaki star. Specifications and bonus contents are subject to change.
