AD-LIVE Stage & Musicals

Kenichi Suzumura's improvised stage production AD-LIVE 2023 records the November 11 performance with Shintaro Asanuma, Nobuhiko Okamoto, Kensho Ono and Yuki Kaji.

What is AD-LIVE? Unpredictable theatre. Only the broad setting and a few events, such as a ringing telephone or somebody arriving, are fixed. The performers' characters and every line are woven entirely through improvisation. They discover one another's characters for the first time on stage.

Emotion and shock. The unknown development of improvisation reacts with the predetermined events to create moving, surprising drama unique to that place, day and instant.

This year's theme is Redoing Fate. A person has died because of a problem even God could not predict. Watching the entire incident from heaven, God is flustered by the unexpected outcome, then has an idea: let the person redo fate and reach the true ending they should originally have found.

God summons somebody connected to that person to guide them toward the true ending. Redoing Fate begins without warning, but even divine power cannot make everything work perfectly. The summoned person's memories and appearance become those of somebody else, while the deceased person's memory also grows uncertain. Can they reach the true ending with the power of the destiny orb, capable of changing even the future, despite being tossed about by events? Do not miss the unpredictable miraculous moments brought by AD-LIVE in its fifteenth anniversary year.

Two main discs separately record the daytime and evening performances. A special booklet, audio commentary and commercials and promotional videos are included. Specifications and extras may change. Japanese Linear PCM audio is provided, without subtitles; the verified specification does not state a channel configuration.

The two region-free Blu-rays contain 180minutes of main content.
