Akina Nakamori Cross My Palm Blu-ray
中森明菜/Cross My Palm
Part seventeen of the Warner Years complete-album reissue series celebrating the fortieth anniversary of Akina Nakamori’s debut.
Cross My Palm is a video work produced around the same time as her eleventh original album of the same name, whose lyrics are entirely in English. Filmed on location in New York from April 13 to 24, 1987, with the film Nine and a Half Weeks in mind, it lets viewers enjoy the sexy and cute appeal of twenty-one-year-old Akina.
The programme combines dramatic scenes and live-performance scenes, using recordings that differ from those on the studio album. A separate photo book, Akina Nakamori Visual Book Cross My Palm, containing the scenario for this video work, was also released after the video on December 24, 1987.
The sixth wave of the Warner Years reissues celebrating her fortieth debut anniversary appeared on the forty-first anniversary of her album debut. Cross My Palm makes its first appearance on Blu-ray!
The music uses arrangements and recordings different from the studio album. It also includes The Look That Kills, the original song behind her chart-topping eighteenth single BLONDE.
