SHADOW WORK is Angela Aki's first new original album in approximately fourteen years, following BLUE, released on July 18, 2012. After pausing her musical activities in Japan in 2014, she returned and went on to write the music for Toho's stage musical In This Corner of the World, making her debut as a musical-theatre composer.
This new solo album contains fifteen songs, including Pledge, released digitally on May 21, 2025, and Floating Planets, released on November 26, 2025.
