Anne of Green Gables Complete Series Blu-ray Box

Anne Shirley arrives at Green Gables with an imagination as vivid as her red hair. Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert had asked for a boy to help on their farm, but an unexpected mix-up brings the talkative orphan to their home on Prince Edward Island. Her determination to stay gradually wins them over, beginning a new life filled with friendship, mistakes and possibilities.

This complete collection follows Anne through her schooldays with Diana and Gilbert, her storytelling adventures and her studies at Queen's Academy. The 1979 animated adaptation presents her changing place in the Cuthberts' household across all 50 episodes, from Matthew's first meeting with her to the choices she faces as a young woman.

Released for the fiftieth anniversary of World Masterpiece Theater, this seven-disc set presents the series in an HD remaster created from the original 35 mm negatives. Eiko Yamada voices Anne, Fumie Kitahara plays Marilla, Ryuji Saikachi plays Matthew, Gara Takashima voices Diana and Kazuhiko Inoue plays Gilbert, with narration by Michio Hazama.

The discs contain 1,286 minutes of episodes and four minutes of supplementary footage. These extras comprise the credit-free opening and ending sequences, two original broadcast announcements and the preview for the first episode. The programme is presented in its original 4:3 aspect ratio at 1080p, with Japanese Linear PCM mono audio and optional Japanese subtitles.

A storage box featuring newly drawn artwork by Yoshiharu Sato houses the collection. The disc content matches the main-series discs of the 2014 Memorial Box, while this release provides the complete series in its 2025 packaging.
