Anti Hero Blu-ray BOX

To the murderer: I will secure your acquittal. Is this anti-lawyer on the side of justice or evil? A new hero overturns familiar assumptions through paradoxical twists. Hiroki Hasegawa returns to TBS's Sunday Theatre as a lead for the first time since Little Giants seven years earlier. His lawyer does more than find innocence in the remaining 0.1 percent of Japan's reputed 99.9-percent conviction rate: he wins acquittals even when the evidence of a crime is complete. Dark and dangerous, he prompts a question: is evil truly the opposite of justice?

Ordinary actions and small changes can turn justice into wrongdoing or a good person into an apparent villain, producing reversals like a butterfly effect. When local factory president Asao Hagi is murdered, employee Keita Hiyama becomes the suspect. Defense lawyer Masaki Akizumi and his colleagues visit the factory to question the person who first discovered the crime.

Takumi Kitamura and Mayu Hotta play fellow lawyers, while Yuko Oshima and Yasufumi Hayashi play paralegals. Mansai Nomura and Yoshino Kimura appear as prosecutors. The cast includes Hana Kondo, Koki Yamashita, Yoshihiko Hosoda, Misuzu Kanno, Takanori Iwata, Naohito Fujiki, Naoto Ogata and Kazue Fukiishi. The theme hanataba is by milet, with the main theme by Yuki Kajiura.

All ten episodes are presented with 46 minutes of previously unaired scenes restored. Extras include making-of footage, interviews, a special stage greeting, the complete Hasegawa and Kitamura serious conversation, the complete special roundtable, the emergency talk before the finale, filming wrap-ups and television spots. A booklet is enclosed.

The four-disc set has three main-program Blu-rays and one bonus Blu-ray, containing 563 minutes of main content and 177 minutes of extras. Japanese Linear PCM 2-channel stereo audio and Japanese main-program subtitles are included.
