Aoshima-kun wa Ijiwaru Blu-ray Box

Aoshima-kun wa Ijiwaru brings Yu Yoshii's romantic comedy to the screen with Shota Watanabe and Ann Nakamura as two colleagues whose convenient arrangement becomes unexpectedly personal. Watanabe plays Mizuki Aoshima, a popular 26-year-old employee with little interest in love or marriage, while Nakamura plays Yukino Katsuragi, approaching 35 and comfortable with the single life she has built after a disappointing relationship.

Yukino works in general affairs at Cat Beverage. She takes her job seriously, even as younger colleague Rika Kimura treats her as an office old-timer. When her friend Takako Suzuki takes her to the systems department, she meets Aoshima, a recent recruit who attracts attention wherever he goes. Unlike the women surrounding him, Yukino is not interested.

That evening, a call from her friend Asako reminds Yukino that she promised to attend an upcoming wedding with the boyfriend she has since left. By chance, Aoshima is sitting beside her at her regular tavern. She asks him to pose as her boyfriend for that one day, expecting a refusal, but he readily agrees. The next morning, their supposed relationship is already the talk of the office: Aoshima has spread the story himself to discourage unwanted romantic attention.

What begins as a practical agreement soon becomes harder for Yukino to control. Secretly holding her hand in the lift and insisting on a date during their time off, Aoshima keeps pushing at the boundaries of their pretence. She finds herself drawn into his teasing behaviour, while he starts noticing the woman he originally approached for convenience. When the wedding finally arrives and Aoshima is nowhere to be seen, the future of their arrangement is suddenly uncertain.

Junki Totsuka, Manatsu Akimoto, Ryoko Kobayashi, Akiko Yada and Tae Kimura join the cast, with Snow Man's theme song colouring the story's romantic moments. This box contains all nine episodes across two programme Blu-rays, plus a third disc with 114 minutes of recorded production announcements, a fan event and original behind-the-scenes footage. An original booklet is also included.

The main programme runs approximately 234 minutes and is presented in 16:9 1080i with Japanese Linear PCM 2.0 stereo. Japanese subtitles for the hearing impaired are available on the main programme only. The three Blu-rays are region-free.
