Artists in Korea - Korean and Japanese Bilingual Artbook
ARTISTS IN KOREA
Artists in Korea brings together 78 Korean illustrators and comic artists in a full-colour collection supervised by pixiv and published with Somy Media. The contributors span game and anime illustration, webtoon comics and independent illustration, giving the book a broad view of the different styles shaping contemporary Korean art. The selection includes creators such as Anmi, CUTEG, Gearous and Tiv, with Korean and Japanese text presented alongside the artwork.
Tiv's cover captures the delicate, poetic approach to character illustration for which the artist is known. The collection also includes a newly commissioned piece by Modare, whose rich colour and soft touch are explored in a making-of feature. An interview with Tiv and Modare's step-by-step account of the new illustration add a closer look at the creative work behind the finished images.
The 196-page B5 edition is printed in full colour with foil stamping on the cover. Its bilingual commentary makes the artists' explanations accessible in both Korean and Japanese.
