Biyaku gathers more than 250 illustrations by Ayumi Kasai, concentrating on approximately ten years of boys' love novel covers. The collection also includes the artist's original Danna-han to Chiwagenka series and artwork created specifically for this book, across 320 pages.
The volume contains mature depictions of relationships between men. It is a selected collection rather than a complete catalogue, and cover illustrations for Reijin are not included.
Kasai, an illustrator and manga artist from Tokushima, debuted in 1990 and has produced covers and interior illustrations for general and boys' love fiction. Her credits include the Bokun Ryu wo Kainarase and Ken'ai Reizoku novel series, the manga Otoko no Hanamichi and the Tsukiyoe illustration collection. Published in Japanese by PIE International.
