Cha Cha Collector's Edition Blu-ray

Cha Cha Collector's Edition Blu-ray follows a free-spirited illustrator into a romance that refuses to behave as expected. Marika Ito stars as Cha Cha, a woman working at a design office who prefers living on her own terms, even when her unconventional behaviour puts her at odds with the people around her.

A chance encounter on a rooftop introduces her to Raku, played by Taishi Nakagawa. Their tastes seem to be complete opposites, yet the thought that two very different people might balance each other draws them closer. As their attraction develops, the story opens into an unpredictable mixture of desire, unease and eccentric humour.

Writer-director Mai Sakai shapes this unusual love story through vivid locations, carefully chosen costumes and shifting screen colours. Fantasy, comedy and unsettling psychological touches coexist rather than resolving into a straightforward tale of personal growth. The supporting cast includes Sawako Fujima, Akihisa Shiono, Motoki Ochiai and Shota Fukuyama, while Ito also performs the theme song Ohayo no Uta.

The Collector's Edition includes making-of footage, cast interviews and trailers. It comes in an outer sleeve with a 12-page booklet and postcard.

This region-free Blu-ray presents the approximately 108-minute Japanese film in cinemascope, with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 original audio and a separate Japanese DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 audio-description track. Japanese subtitles are provided for the main feature.
