Code Geass Anime

I will destroy the world to protect you.

The Code Geass series celebrated its fifteenth anniversary in October 2021. This Blu-ray Box contains a special fifteenth-anniversary edition of the first series, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, with refreshed opening and ending songs. The second series, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R 2, was released simultaneously in its own anniversary Blu-ray Box.

Originally televised in 2006, the series became a major hit through the intricate drama of its striking characters and powerful battles fought with Knightmare Frames. This ambitious work brings together director Goro Taniguchi, writer Ichiro Okouchi, original character designers CLAMP, character designer Takahiro Kimura, main animators Takahiro Kimura, Yuriko Chiba, Eiji Nakada and Seiichi Nakatani, and composers Kotaro Nakagawa and Hitomi Kuroishi.

Director Taniguchi created fresh direction for the new opening and ending sequences, offering a different presentation from the earlier television version. FLOW, whose participation attracted considerable attention when announced, joins popular artists TK from Ling tosite sigure, Eir Aoi and Cö shu Nie.

Story It is the year 2017 of the Imperial Calendar. Japan has become a territory of the Britannian Empire and is called Area 11. Lelouch attends the Britannian Ashford Academy. Caught in fighting between terrorists and Britannian forces in the Shinjuku Ghetto, he encounters his old friend Suzaku Kururugi, now serving in the Britannian army.

A mysterious girl appears before them and tragedy follows. Suzaku is shot while trying to protect the girl and Lelouch from the Britannian soldiers. As Lelouch grieves, the girl, C.C., grants him the power of Geass: absolute obedience. Taking the masked identity Zero, Lelouch leads the resistance force known as the Black Knights and raises the banner of rebellion against Britannia. No one yet knows how the upheaval begun by this one boy will engulf the age or what it will leave in people's hearts.
