Crime and Evil Deluxe Edition Blu-ray + DVD follows three childhood friends whose attempt to avenge a murder leaves them bound by a secret. Fourteen-year-old Masaki is found dead beneath a bridge in their town. Convinced that they know the killer, Haru, Akira and Saku confront a man at his home. The encounter ends in another death and a fire, apparently closing the case.

Twenty years later, Akira has become a detective and returns home after his father's death. Another boy's body is discovered beneath the same bridge. His investigation reunites him with Haru and Saku, forcing each man to confront what they concealed and what responsibility for their actions now means.

Kengo Kora plays Haru, who runs a construction company that also takes on illicit work. Shunsuke Daito plays Akira, raised in a police family, while Takuya Ishida plays Saku, a farmer caring for his withdrawn twin brother Naoya. Jun Murakami, Koichi Sato and Kippei Shiina also appear. Writer-director Yuki Saito sets his debut feature against the landscapes of his native Fukui, using an original noir mystery to question guilt, atonement and self-appointed justice.

The approximately 115-minute film is accompanied by a supplementary DVD and a 24-page booklet. The extras include footage from the completion screening and opening-day appearances, a making-of programme, trailers, a short promotional spot and an audio commentary.

Japanese Dolby Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 stereo are available for the feature, with no subtitles. The feature Blu-ray is region-free; the accompanying bonus DVD is Region 2 and requires compatible playback equipment.
