Spirit Evolution! The excitement of Digimon returns with a new edition of its fourth television series, Frontier. First broadcast in 2002, this adventure gives the franchise a new direction: the children evolve into Digimon themselves instead of being accompanied by partner Digimon.

The story places its otherworldly fantasy elements firmly in the foreground. Its adventures have been remastered in high definition using modern digital technology and return in a more accessible box edition.

On his younger brother’s birthday, fifth-grader Takuya Kanbara receives a mysterious message on his mobile phone: a game that will decide the future. Instinctively sensing something in the message, he follows its instructions and heads for the station.

On the way, Takuya meets a mysterious boy who received the same message. Together they board a strange underground train. Three other children are already aboard: Izumi Orimoto, Junpei Shibayama and Tomoki Himi.

The train eventually reaches another world, the Digital World. It turns out to be a Digimon named Trailmon. Chosen by the Flame Spirit that lay dormant at their destination, Takuya undergoes Spirit Evolution and becomes the flame warrior Agunimon.

Having gained the ability to evolve into a Digimon, Takuya becomes one of the legendary Ten Warriors. An adventure through the Digital World begins with Izumi, Junpei and Tomoki, the Bokomon and Neemon they meet there, and the mysterious boy Koji Minamoto.

The edition comes in a slipcase. Supplementary footage includes the opening and ending without credits and end cards, reproducing the extras from the earlier Blu-ray release.
