Nine themed chapters introduce Ueda and three strands of his style, then explore female character illustration, traditional and modern Japanese motifs, mechanical and game designs, music-related work, AI Bear and Staffed Bear Company. The book considers both the finished images and the changing scope of his creative practice.
Character work for a social-deduction game, large-scale murals, television-puppet designs and stage visuals help show the reach of that practice.
