EYRIE Phoenix 70th Anniversary Album CD
EYRIE/火の鳥
EYRIE translates ten scenes from Osamu Tezuka's Phoenix into music for the manga's seventieth-anniversary album. Created with the full cooperation of Tezuka Productions, the project uses the instrumental band's piano-four-hands and drums lineup to explore a story whose vast scope revolves around life and death.
Tezuka regarded Phoenix as his life's work. Its 2024 anniversary also marked thirty-five years since his death, and every member of EYRIE had grown up reading and being influenced by the manga. After repeatedly revisiting it, they selected ten moments they especially wanted to express through music.
Phoenix illustrations appear on the cover and in the booklet, which also contains a foreword by Tezuka's eldest daughter, Rumiko Tezuka.
