Ganbare Genki Complete Series Blu-ray

Celebrate the gold medal with this specially announced release! All thirty-five episodes of the television anime Ganbare Genki, one of Yu Koyama's representative works, are gathered on a single Blu-ray for watching together.

Long ago, Genki walked that road with the father he has since lost. Respecting, loving and admiring his father, the young lion charged straight into the world of boxing. Ganbare Genki is a story of willpower, self-restraint and determination in pursuit of a goal, and of a boy striving to live today and soar toward tomorrow.

Genki Horiguchi was born at the cost of his mother's life and raised by his father, Shark Horiguchi. Although his father has fallen on hard times and works as a traveling boxer, Genki firmly believes that he is a powerful fighter who will become champion. Genki dreams of becoming a strong boxer like him.

After his father's death, Genki resolves to become world champion. Despite his grandparents' opposition, he secretly continues boxing practice. Influenced by the people around him, including teacher Ashikawa, who reminds him of his mother, and former student champion Mishima, the time comes to set out on the road to becoming a professional boxer.

The disc contains episodes 1-35. The voice cast includes Toshiko Fujita, Makio Inoue, Kazuko Sugiyama, Katsuji Mori, Ichiro Nagai, Shima Sakai, Toru Furuya, Shuichi Ikeda, Keiko Han and Hiroshi Masuoka.
