Ghost Yankee Blu-ray

The passionate ghost-friendship story that excited social media arrives on Blu-ray. MBS Drama Tokku's Ghost Yankee brings together acclaimed actors from the stage in a heartwarming supernatural comedy.

A serious injury ends third-year high-school student Togeru Kazamachi's future as a track athlete. Overwhelmed by loss and alienation, he runs in front of a moving car as if drawn toward it, and awakens as a ghost. Confused, he flees and meets Goro, Junpei and Chitta, members of the hopelessly old-fashioned Showa delinquent gang Wanpakudan. They died around forty years earlier and have still not passed on. Their former companion Birch has instead joined the Boreizoku, who cause trouble in the spirit world.

Although Togeru feels the generation gap with these foolish, passionate delinquents stranded in Showa, companionship slowly grows. Each has a reason for remaining in this world, with a hidden truth even they do not yet know. Caught in strange spirit-world disturbances, they challenge and encourage one another to overcome them in a warm comedy of ghostly friendship.

Haru Kashiwagi plays Togeru, Ryoga Ishikawa plays Josuke Chiba/Birch, Yu Fukuzawa plays Goro Tomino, Ryotaro Kosaka plays Junpei Sasaoka and Raiga Terasaka plays Chitaro Mukai/Chitta. Haruse Akune plays Nile Ichijo, Yuki Saotome plays Ryuichi Baba, Reiya Takahashi plays Fumikichi Ichimura, Akira Takano plays Roga Hayashida and Toshihiro Wada plays Sota Masuda/the Master.

Episodes 1–5 are included, with approximately 60 minutes of making-of footage and the thirty-second television spots, listed as six by Animate. The 100-minute main program is on one region-free Blu-ray, using Japanese Linear PCM stereo audio without subtitles. The first-press outer box and application code for the February 2025 event are not guaranteed.
