Good Bye, Dragon Life Blu-ray Box

Good Bye, Dragon Life Blu-ray Box follows an ancient dragon into an unexpectedly gentle new existence as a human villager. Based on Hiroaki Nagashima's fantasy story, the series explores the small joys of ordinary life alongside the dangers that accompany an extraordinary past.

When the oldest divine dragon is slain by a human, he accepts the end of a long and lonely life. His immense power once made even the gods bow before him, but he awakens again as Dolan, a villager living on the frontier. Now facing a much shorter human lifespan, he works the fields, hunts for food and discovers a warmth in village life that he never knew as a dragon.

While investigating a marsh, Dolan encounters Celina, a lamia with a human upper body and a serpent's lower half. She is travelling in search of a partner but admits that, despite being a lamia, she is not good at charming humans. The two gradually form a connection across the divide between human and monster, even as new enemies threaten the life they are beginning to share.

Shunsuke Takeuchi voices Dolan, with Hitomi Sekine as Celina, Ayaka Ohashi as Christina and Mikoi Sasaki as Deirdre. The three-disc set contains all twelve episodes, accompanied by a slipcase illustrated by Kisuke Ichimaru and a special booklet featuring an original comic by Kurono.

On-disc extras include the recorded advance-screening cast discussion with Takeuchi, Sekine, Ohashi, Sasaki and Akane Matsunaga, plus creditless opening and ending sequences. Approximately 300 minutes of programme content are presented in 16:9 1080p with Japanese Linear PCM stereo audio. The Blu-rays are region-free and do not include subtitles.
