Gunbuster Blu-ray Box Standard Edition

Effort and determination! Once it burns with that spirit, Gunbuster is invincible. The landmark science-fiction robot anime first released in 1988 returns in an affordable Standard Edition box. GAINAX’s first original video animation became a major hit and an enduring entertainment classic.

In 2015, the Luxion fleet is annihilated by mysterious space monsters while travelling through the region of Cygnus. Fifteen years later, Okinawa Girls’ Space High School is established to train space pilots against the approaching threat. Among its students is Noriko Takaya, the daughter of the Luxion’s captain. “One day I’ll become a space pilot too, and travel into the same universe where my father was!” Under her coach’s demanding training, Noriko rapidly reveals her talent. A difficult battle to become the best pilot and defend Earth is about to begin.

Noriko finally sets off into space, supported by the senior she admires and shaped by her coach’s intensive training. A formidable rival appears, enemy space monsters are encountered, and her father’s battleship Luxion emerges before her eyes.

She boards the enormous space battleship Exelion and travels into the galaxy, but the end of her partnership with her senior, the painful outcome of a tender romance and jealousy from her fellow pilots weigh heavily on her. Faced with an overwhelming enemy attack, Noriko climbs aboard the ultimate weapon, Gunbuster.

Noriko and Kazumi return safely to Earth, where ten years have already passed. Noriko attends her graduation a decade late and reunites with her old friend Kimiko, yet cannot shake the loneliness of being left outside the flow of time. Then word arrives that billions of space monsters are rapidly approaching. Humanity’s final battle begins.
