Hakuoki Blu-ray + CD Box Special Price Edition

If there is something you want to protect, become a demon. All twelve episodes of the first Hakuoki television anime, the start of a major hit series, arrive in a Special Price Blu-ray box. Produced in 2010, the set also includes a bonus CD of the reading drama Yuki ga Hana no Yo ni Mau Toki, Part One.

In December of the third year of Bunkyu, at the end of the Tokugawa shogunate, Chizuru Yukimura visits Kyoto in search of her father. She encounters the Shinsengumi, feared as a band of killers. A secret medicine her father was researching creates bloodthirsty monsters. Nonhuman beings called demons are affiliated with Satsuma and Choshu. And Chizuru herself has a secret.

Through the turbulent transition from the end of the shogunate to the Meiji era, these men hold fast to bushido and raise the banner of sincerity until the very end. This is their story, and that of the girl who chooses to live alongside them.

The box contains all twelve first-season episodes. Video extras include Hakuoki Kyoto Bangaihen, Hakuoki SSL Part One, creditless opening and ending sequences, and a trailer for Hakuoki The Movie Chapter 1: Kyoto Ranbu.

The audio commentaries feature Houko Kuwashima, Shinichiro Miki and Shotaro Morikubo on episode 1; Shotaro Morikubo and Kosuke Toriumi on episode 3; Nobuo Tobita and Takayuki Suzuki on episode 5; Koji Yusa and Tomohiro Tsuboi on episode 7; Hiroyuki Yoshino and Koji Yusa on episode 9; and Shinichiro Miki and Kosuke Toriumi on episode 11.

The bonus CD presents Yuki ga Hana no Yo ni Mau Toki, Part One, with Houko Kuwashima, Shinichiro Miki, Shotaro Morikubo, Kosuke Toriumi, Hiroyuki Yoshino and Koji Yusa. It is a recording of the reading drama performed at Hakuoki Sekkaroku: Haru no Yume.

The cast features Houko Kuwashima as Chizuru Yukimura, Shinichiro Miki as Toshizo Hijikata, Shotaro Morikubo as Soji Okita, Kosuke Toriumi as Hajime Saito, Hiroyuki Yoshino as Heisuke Todo and Koji Yusa as Sanosuke Harada.

The four-disc set comprises three Blu-rays and the bonus CD. Its disc content is the same as the 2013 first-production limited Hakuoki Blu-ray Box, catalog number GNXA-1085.
