Himekami Jodo Mandala Concert Remaster Edition Blu-ray

A Himekami concert film recording the Jodo Garden Concert held at Motsuji Temple in Hiraizumi, Iwate Prefecture, on July 29, 1995.

The audio has also been remixed, with an Atmos mix and a regular stereo mix included.

The concert was performed as a Horaku Buddhist offering commemorating the twelve-hundredth anniversary of the birth of Jikaku Daishi Ennin, regarded as the founder of Motsuji Temple; the completion and dedication of the restored Jogyo-do hall; and the nine-hundredth anniversary of the founding of Hiraizumi. Approximately 8,000 people attended.

The Jodo Garden is now registered as a World Heritage Site, making an event of this kind difficult to hold there. The performance has effectively been passed down as a legendary concert of the twentieth century.

Alongside the HD-upconverted picture, the second-generation Himekami, who took part in the original concert, personally created new mixes: spatial Atmos audio and a conventional two-channel stereo 2025 mix. Using current technology brings the live performance from thirty years ago to life with greater realism and an immersive sense of presence.

The final publisher specification givesfor the main concert. It is an HD Blu-ray edition using an upconverted master, rather than a 4K Ultra HD disc. Japanese is explicitly identified by the exact-ASIN source. The publisher confirms an Atmos mix and a stereo mix but does not specify the Atmos channel configuration or the stereo codec.

Separate retailer-exclusive gifts are not included with this reference. Where initial-production or limited edition apply, they end when stock is exhausted or switch to edition.
