Hurricaneger Shushutto 20th Anniversary Blu-ray

Arriving with a swoosh in glorious Edo! Twenty years after the Ninpu Sentai Hurricaneger television series and ten after 10 YEARS AFTER, an unexpected new original twentieth-anniversary work is born. This time the setting is the end of the Edo period. Toei's Kyoto studio realizes the Hurricanegers' ninja concept in a historical setting that seems obvious but had never been done!

The main cast reunites, each passionately playing both a modern character and an Edo-period one, embodying heroes across time and space. Their own swift, graceful ninja action is a must-see! Five ancestors of the Hurricanegers fight Oiranda and Aunja, the strongest and most terrible of the Hidden Seven Spears, over the Tensho Stone said to destroy the world.

In the Edo period, Oiranda and Aunja appear before Hayate-style ninjas Takanosuke, played by Shun Shioya, Nami, played by Nao Nagasawa, and Kotaro, played by Kohei Yamamoto, and Ikaku and Ikka of the Ikazuchi style, played by Yujiro Shirakawa and Nobuo Kyo. Princess Teru, guarded by the two Ikazuchi ninjas, is attacked because the enemies seek her world-destroying stone. Ikaku and Ikka cannot match them. Just as all seems lost, the Hurricanegers and Gouraigers suddenly arrive from the future and begin a fierce battle.

The originally announced extras include making-of footage, promotional clips, a design gallery, poster visuals and cast commentary. The final publisher listing additionally specifies interviews, completion-premiere stage greetings, trailers and teasers, and Hurricaneger Files. The cast commentary features all five returning leads: Shun Shioya, Nao Nagasawa, Kohei Yamamoto, Yujiro Shirakawa and Nobuo Kyo.

The region-free Blu-ray contains approximately 60 minutes of film with Japanese Linear PCM stereo and 5.1-channel audio, an additional stereo commentary and no subtitles.
