In the Wind gathers more than three hundred Minahamu paintings and drawings in the artist's first collection published in Japan. The selection reaches back to work begun during the student years, often placing young figures amid dense greenery, beaches and other natural surroundings.
Sections organised around the artist's words and memories move between familiar places, remembered views and unfamiliar settings. Wind, the atmosphere of thick grass, light and dreams connect these landscapes, followed by drawings and a look back over the artist's path.
An extended interview explores the roots of the work. Different paper stocks distinguish areas such as the painting and interview sections. Published by PIE International, this Japanese-language collection contains 287 pages.
