Inheritance Detective Blu-ray Box

Every inheritance has its own story, and every story can become a case. Eiji Akaso stars as Nao Haie, an eccentric but sharp-minded inheritance detective who refuses to let a legacy end in tears. Working with an equally distinctive group of companions, he untangles disputes with humour, ingenuity and, when the situation demands it, complete seriousness. Yumie Nishiogi, the writer behind Keizoku and SPEC, adapts the manga she created with artist Yo Ikuta into an unconventional mystery drama about a problem that can touch any family.

Akaso is joined by Hiyori Sakurada, Yuma Yamoto, Motoki Ochiai, Kiyohiko Shibukawa, Takahiro Miura and Masaya Kato. The music is by Wataru Sato and Gecko&Tokage Parade, with Reini’s “Last Letter” as the theme song. Shintaro Sugawara and Makoto Naganuma are among the directors. Kyoko Matsumoto serves as chief producer, with producers Emi Shimanoe, Marina Ishii and Shigetaka Honda and cooperating producers Hisashi Tsugiya and Emiko Yoshikawa. Nippon Television produces the series with production cooperation from AX-ON.

Five discs hold the main programme and a sixth gathers the supplementary material. The extras comprise Making of Inheritance Detective; a pre-broadcast special interview with Eiji Akaso; a second pre-broadcast interview featuring Akaso, Sakurada and Yamoto; their comments at the start of filming; teasers and trailers; Christmas and New Year greetings; the pre-broadcast countdown; and special character videos for Nao Haie, Reiko Mitomi and Hideki Tomonaga. A full-colour booklet accompanies the set. The programme is presented with Japanese Linear PCM stereo audio and Japanese accessibility subtitles for the main episodes.
