閃き ～INSPIRATIONS～ 画狂人 井上文太
Japanese painting, ink, Buddhist imagery, oils, watercolour, calligraphy and design meet in Bunta Inoue's first artbook, Inspirations. More than 200 works, including newly created pieces, reflect an artistic practice centred on living things, respect for life and hopes for the future.
HYDE, Inoue's friend of around thirty years, planned and produced the collection. His involvement extends from selecting works to contributing writing in response to Inoue's newly drawn portrait of him. The reproduced pieces include Dears - HYDE and 33 - Lapis Ocean - Shining Blue, alongside other paintings.
Inoue studied under Kuniyoshi Kaneko and began working as a painter in 1999. His practice also reaches into character design, costume design and puppet-art supervision, including NHK's The Three Musketeers and Sherlock Holmes. Those different disciplines provide context for the range of imagery gathered here.
The Japanese hardcover presents the collection across 208 full-colour pages.
