Kafun Syndrome brings the illustrator and manga artist's original character artwork together in a first artbook. More than 150 original pieces include sixteen drawn for this volume and approximately fifty revised works, showing the expressive figure drawing behind Kafun's international commission work.
Cover and opening illustrations from Shinsotsu Nana Fushigi, Shinigami! Tahi-chan and Kafun Mukashibanashi appear with artwork made for merchandise and other publications. A making-of feature follows the new cover illustration, while comments on individual works offer further insight. The making-of text and commentary include English translations.
Kafun began sharing illustrations around 2008 and subsequently developed manga work. Kafun Mukashibanashi was collected by Media Factory in 2015, followed by further serialized projects. Published by Genkosha, this 160-page artbook combines Japanese text with English translations of the specified features.
