Kaiju No. 8 Animation

In a world where kaiju routinely threaten people's lives, Kafka Hibino once dreamed of joining the Japan Defense Force, which fights to defeat them. Somewhere along the way, he gave up that dream and began working in kaiju cleanup.

“Let's wipe out all the kaiju together.” Seeing the achievements of Mina Ashiro, his childhood friend and now captain of the Third Division, with whom he once made that promise, and meeting Reno Ichikawa, a younger colleague who hopes to join the Defense Force, inspire Kafka to pursue his dream again.

But just then, a mysterious small kaiju transforms him into a kaiju with tremendous power! Named Kaiju No. 8 and hunted throughout Japan, Kafka still refuses to abandon his dream of becoming a Defense Force member as he faces the disasters caused by kaiju.

The standard edition comes in an illustrated three-sided case featuring Reno Ichikawa. Its Anime Kaiju No. 8 Investigation Report Vol. 2 booklet presents episode highlights, character and kaiju design materials, art boards, and exclusive interviews about the opening and ending sequences. A decoration sticker set uses logos that appear in the series.

Additional viewing includes teaser promotional videos, a broadcast-launch special and web previews. Selected episodes offer audio commentaries.
