Kamen Rider BLACK RX Blu-ray Box 1
TV 仮面ライダーBLACK RX Blu-ray BOX 1
This new-price edition was released to commemorate the production of the 2022 reboot Kamen Rider BLACK SUN. To mark the fiftieth anniversary of Kamen Rider, Kamen Rider BLACK was remade as a streaming series more than thirty years after its original broadcast. The Blu-ray boxes of the original Kamen Rider BLACK RX television series were released at the same time at a more affordable price.
The dark atmosphere of Kamen Rider BLACK gives way to a brighter tone, with Kotaro himself taking on a more cheerful personality and comic touches. Four distinctive commanders leading four enemy divisions heighten the sense of adventure, while the sharply choreographed combat is in top form. Many fans find a powerful sense of release in watching RX defeat his monstrous opponents.
Having finished his battle against Gorgom, Kotaro Minami starts a new life, only to face a new enemy: the Crisis Empire. Overwhelmed by its immense power, Kotaro is cast into space. The King Stone inside his body absorbs solar energy, and he is reborn as BLACK RX, Child of the Sun. Later in the series he gains the ability to transform into two additional forms, Bio Rider and Robo Rider.
Box one contains episodes one through fifteen across three Blu-rays and 366 minutes of main-program footage. Disc one contains episodes one through five, disc two contains episodes six through ten, and disc three contains episodes eleven through fifteen.
Disc one's extras are the new-series preview, the trailer for Kamen Rider 1 to RX: Grand Gathering, and the Kamen Rider 1 to RX: Grand Gathering special broadcast on October 16, 1988. All three of these extras were upconverted to high definition from standard-definition source material. Disc three includes an interview with Tetsuo Kurata.
The cast includes Tetsuo Kurata, Jun Koyamaki, Makoto Akatsuka, Eri Tsuruma, Go Inoue and Shoko Imura.
