Kamen Rider TV Series

What is evil? Who is evil?

Created as one of the major projects celebrating Kamen Rider’s fiftieth anniversary, this much-discussed series received a tremendous response when it began streaming exclusively worldwide on Prime Video in October 2022.

It is 2022. Half a century after the government proclaimed coexistence between humans and kaijin, the monsters living in human form remain oppressed, and the two sides repeatedly clash. Amid this turmoil, a girl who dreams of harmony meets a man called BLACK SUN. Asking what evil is and who embodies it, this shocking, weighty drama cuts sharply into the social problems permeating the world.

The popular Kamen Rider BLACK, first broadcast in 1987, is reborn as Kamen Rider BLACK SUN. The remarkable designs and physical creations of the Riders and monsters are another must-see element. Although this is Kamen Rider, it carries an R-18+ rating. Its extreme depictions and fierce battle scenes, which could never be shown on terrestrial television, are among its highlights. A new Kamen Rider emerges as an adult-oriented work that film lovers as well as Rider fans can enjoy.

In the chaotic year 2022, fifty years after the declaration of coexistence, young human-rights activist Aoi Izumi, who calls for the abolition of discrimination, meets Kotaro Minami. He is the being known as BLACK SUN, a candidate to become the next Creation King.

The truth about the Creation King and the kaijin lies hidden within fifty years of history. Another candidate for the throne, Nobuhiko Akizuki, known as SHADOWMOON, has been imprisoned. Their encounters and reunions will eventually swell into a great wave that engulfs everyone around them.

The release includes rare making-of footage. The original first pressing offered a special sleeve and a booklet containing a newly recorded discussion; those first-press extras have ended and are not guaranteed with this edition. Designs, specifications and extras may change without notice.
