Luminous Witches Mixed Collections

The new witches' weapon is song! Branded unfit for combat, these unsuccessful witches transform the powers they possess into singing and dancing, finding new possibilities as they rise from rock bottom.

This distinctive new entry in the hit Witches series, combining magical girls, mecha and military themes, was launched as a centrepiece of the franchise's tenth-anniversary celebrations. Announced in 2018, Allied Air Force Magical Idols Luminous Witches was originally scheduled for an anime adaptation in 2021. Unlike the witches of the joint fighter wings who protect everyone through battle, these witches begin a new story of protecting smiles through song and music.

Story: Set in the same world and timeline as the 501st Joint Fighter Wing Strike Witches, this is the activity record of a separate unit of witches who do not fight. Centred on Ginny, a mysterious girl with the qualities of a night witch, they turn their modest abilities into song and dance. Labelled unsuitable for combat, they climb up from the lowest point and bring smiles to people around the world.

The first original animation promotional video depicts a prelude to that story, following their everyday lives as they begin their singing activities. Behind-the-scenes footage follows the growth and hard work of the nine performers, who had already debuted as an idol group ahead of the animation. Their fresh appeal makes you want to support them.

The programme includes long and short versions of the animation special promotional video and its making-of library, the full music video for the debut single Flying Skyhigh and its making-of, a digest of roughly the first year of Luminous Witches' activities since their debut, individual member interviews, early promotional footage and more.

The original first-production edition included a newly illustrated jacket and a special sticker using a new illustration. These first-press extras have ended and are not guaranteed.
