Magic Maker: How to Make Magic in Another World Blu-ray Box Part 1 introduces Shion, a quiet boy whose dream of magic sets him apart from the people around him. He and his energetic older sister Marie live with their loving parents, a minor noble family governing a rural territory in the Kingdom of Listia. Marie delights in sword lessons with their father; Shion would rather stay indoors with a book.
At the age of three, Shion asks whether magic exists. Even his well-educated father has never heard the word, much less seen anyone summon fire, water, wind or light from nothing. Deeply disappointed, Shion withdraws into himself. Hoping to lift his spirits, Marie speaks to their childhood friend Rose, a farmer's daughter. A strange occurrence at a lake then opens the way to an investigation that could change their world.
The fantasy follows a reincarnated boy's determination to develop the magic he cannot find. Megumi Han voices Shion, with Ai Kakuma as Marie and Sora Amamiya as Rose. Yu Serizawa, Aoi Koga, Naoya Miyase, Mitsuru Miyamoto and Megumi Toyoguchi also feature in the cast.
This first volume contains episodes 1-6 on one region-free Blu-ray, with approximately 141 minutes of the series in 16:9. Cast audio commentary and opening and ending sequences without credits accompany the episodes. The main programme features Japanese Linear PCM audio and no subtitles.
