Mao Asada Thanks Tour Blu-ray
浅田真央/浅田真央サンクスツアー
With gratitude to everyone who has supported her, Mao Asada travels across Japan in an ice show that brings together a medley of the programmes she has skated throughout her career.
A central figure in the world of figure skating, Mao Asada retired from competition in 2017 to the regret of her many fans. Since 2018, the professional skater has staged Thanks Tour to express her appreciation for their support. This release captures an ice show that is graceful, dynamic and deeply moving.
The Aichi performance is accompanied by Documentary of Thanks Tour, whose cameras followed the project from the very beginning. Special footage features Mai Asada's Scheherazade performance from the May 2018 Niigata show. An original photo book is included.
The original release announcement stated that all of the tour members' proceeds from the Thanks Tour Blu-ray and DVD would be donated to Aqua Rink Chiba, which was damaged by a typhoon in 2019. It also announced Thanks Tour performances at that rink for June 13 and 14, 2020.
