Approaching thirty, aspiring actress Mirai Shiokawa has neither a stable career nor the life she imagined. After another setback, a thunderstorm brings an extraordinary visitor: a boy named Sota who says he has come from 2036 and calls her Mama. He wants her to reconcile with his father, "Ma-kun," but Mirai first has to work out who that could be.
Her search entangles her with Masaki Yoshizawa, her former boyfriend and the head of the Albatros theatre company; fellow performer Shin Yano; and childhood classmate Yuta Matsuoka, now a nursery teacher. Mirai Shida stars with Akihisa Shiono, Nozomu Kotaki, Katsumi Hyodo and Yu Amano in a story of unexpected parenthood, second chances and the courage to choose a future. Motohiro Hata performs the theme song, "Pocket ni Maho o Irete."
The four-disc box contains all ten episodes across three main Blu-rays and one bonus disc, with a booklet. Extras include the press conference, making-of footage, a parent-and-child interview with Shida and Amano, cast wrap-up footage and promotional spots. An episode-seven commentary brings together four principal cast members. Japanese accessibility subtitles accompany the main episodes.
