My Oni Girl follows a summer encounter between two very different teenagers as snow falls out of season. Hiiragi Yatsuse, a first-year high-school student in Yamagata, tries so hard to get along with everyone that he finds himself unable to refuse a request. Yet his efforts to help never quite work out, and he has no one he can call a close friend.
After another difficult day, he meets Tsumugi, an oni girl who has entered the human world to search for her mother. Where Hiiragi hides his own wishes to avoid upsetting others, Tsumugi is outspoken and follows her own impulses. Their meeting sets a coming-of-age fantasy in motion, bringing a winter landscape into the middle of summer.
Studio Colorido produces the film, directed by Tomotaka Shibayama, with Kensho Ono voicing Hiiragi and Miyu Tomita as Tsumugi. The music includes ZUTOMAYO's theme song Uso Janai and the insert song Blues in the Closet.
The 102-minute feature and a teaser trailer are presented on one region-free Blu-ray in a special slipcase with a booklet. Japanese Linear PCM 2.0 stereo and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround tracks are included. This Japanese Blu-ray edition has no subtitles.
