Nonohara Artworks - A Journey Through Curious Buildings

Nonohara's first artbook builds a connected fantasy world from 26 imagined places, including a floating-island port, a settlement in a giant tree and a cabin above a sea of clouds. A pig working as a travelling porter leads the journey through plains, coastal islands, mountains and forests, then a canyon kingdom built in a former lake basin.
Illustrations, stories and regional maps reveal how these places are inhabited. Floor plans and close-up drawings explore building materials, water supplies, residents, food and everyday tools, while the porter's equipment and collected souvenirs frame the journey. The collection expands 22 scenes from two earlier self-published books with more than 200 new detail illustrations and adds four entirely new settings. Published by X-Knowledge, this Japanese-language volume contains 160 pages.
