Oshi no Ko Animation

“In this entertainment world, lies are a weapon.” The hugely popular manga serialized in Weekly Young Jump becomes a television anime, bringing a shocking new perspective to the world of show business. Oshi no Ko is the work of Aka Akasaka, creator of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, and Mengo Yokoyari, creator of Scum’s Wish. The release presentation describes the original manga as having eleven volumes published and more than nine million copies in circulation when this edition was introduced. Its startling view of the entertainment industry reached television in spring 2023.

Goro is an obstetrician and gynecologist working in a provincial city. One day, Ai from the idol group B Komachi, the idol he loves most, appears before him. She is hiding a forbidden secret. From this “worst” possible encounter between the two, fate begins to move, drawing Goro into a destiny that will change his life.

The bonus feature OSHI NO KO: Behind the Scenes goes behind the production of the anime, while an audio commentary offers another way to experience the opening story. Promotional videos are also included.

The original first-press presentation featured a special booklet, a specially prepared leaflet reproducing all four illustrated mini-shikishi designs distributed to audiences of Oshi no Ko: Mother and Children during its cinema screenings, and a storyboard collection. These first-press extras depend on the exact copy supplied and are not guaranteed with the standard available edition.
