Pixar Best revisits twenty-seven films, from Toy Story to Elemental, through music selected for this Japan-exclusive compilation. Its twenty-seven tracks combine Japanese songs by performers including suis from Yorushika, Da-iCE and Superfly with songs in other languages and score selections by familiar Pixar composers such as Randy Newman.
Four recordings make their CD debut here: Shonen Jidai in its Luca version, Donna Kimi mo from Turning Red, Mission Perpetual from Lightyear and Superfly's Elemental version of Yasashii Kimochi de. You've Got a Friend in Me, If I Didn't Have You and Remember Me join the collection's familiar favorites.
The booklet includes lyrics, translations and track commentary, a special message from director Pete Docter and comments from artists who performed the Japanese end songs.
