In this dramatic science-fiction adventure, thirteen boys and girls living in different eras from the past to the future board enormous robots called Sentinels and throw themselves into a final battle for humanity's survival.

Story

An emergency news bulletin reports a huge unidentified object flying like a meteorite. It smashes through buildings and continues onward.

The television newscaster announces the end of everyday life.

Among the people fleeing, boys and girls stand against the despair bearing down on them.

They board enormous robots called Sentinels and enter the final battle for humanity's survival.

A world experienced through three parts

The game progresses through three interconnected parts: Destruction, Remembrance and Analysis.

Destruction is the battle portion, where you board Sentinels to defend the world.

Remembrance is the adventure portion, investigating great mysteries through incidents occurring in everyday life.

Analysis lets you review the story and develop your own interpretations through the event archive and mystery files.

A vast story told from thirteen perspectives

Remembrance unfolds from the individual viewpoints of thirteen protagonists.

Each protagonist has their own episodes featuring closely connected characters, revealing hidden aspects of those characters through their complex relationships.

Following everyone's stories and unraveling the mysteries each of the thirteen carries leads you toward the truth behind the destruction.

Remembrance: the adventure portion

Manipulate the keywords that emerge from conversations between characters and move closer to the truth.

The hidden truth gradually emerges as you solve each story.

The innovative Cloud Sync system lets you reflect on keywords gathered during conversations or bring them up with the person you are talking to, changing the ways the story develops.

Destruction: the battle portion

Form teams using four kinds of Sentinel—melee, all-purpose, long-range and flying—and deploy their abilities in exhilarating tactical battles against the giant enemies called kaiju attacking the city.

Repel the enemy while protecting the terminal that serves as your defensive position.

Unlock new armaments and strengthen your Sentinels.

Changing the battle style also makes it easy for players who primarily want to enjoy the story to play.

Analysis: the archive portion

An archive encompasses the carefully constructed world.

Replay event scenes you have already seen, reread the mysterious story from your own perspective and think it through.

Illustrated explanations of people, machines and food-related terms let you enjoy the world's detailed setting.

The Premium Box's original physical contents

The game is presented in a luxurious special box with a white-based design created by Vanillaware itself.

The Secret File is a 132-page book measuring 190 × 135 mm, fully supervised by Vanillaware. It faithfully recreates varied projects, including articles styled after 1980s magazines that the characters looked forward to within the game.

The substantial book also covers treasured setting illustrations not included in the game.

A papercraft model kit recreates the Second-Generation No. 13 Sentinel in three dimensions through a collaboration with a papercraft model manufacturer. It can be played with after assembly.
