Give meaning to their tears

CRYSTAR is an unusual, entirely original title from FuRyu: an action RPG in which young heroines cry and fight. It tells a supernatural story of girls who shed tears and battle in a gloomy world.

To revive the sister she killed

A girl named Rei and her younger sister Mirai wander into Limbo, a world after death. Bewildered, they try to return to the place they came from, but strange, unknown creatures attack them.

Rei awakens to supernatural powers and fights to protect Mirai. Her power runs out of control, however, and she kills Mirai with her own hands.

A demon whispers to the despairing Rei: if she reaps the souls of the dead drifting through this otherworld and offers the tears shed at the end of their suffering, she can bring the dead Mirai back to life.

Having made a pact with the demon for her sister's sake, Rei steps onto a battlefield where she must risk her life.

An action RPG with seamless battles

In Limbo, the battlefield, fight by attacking the strange beings wandering around you, known as Specters and Revenants. Simple controls and each character's unique skills let you take part in combat. As you become familiar with the controls, dash to evade an enemy's attack and counter, or follow up against defenseless enemies you have launched into the air.

Four playable characters

Rei is joined by three companions as the story progresses. The main cast, including the playable characters, is predominantly made up of girls. Switch freely between the four distinctive characters at any time.

Choose a character to suit your play style: an all-rounder, a power specialist, a consecutive-attack specialist or a ranged fighter. Take on the strange beings that infest Limbo, and connect combos with companions as you switch between them.

The exhilaration of crying and fighting

When the gauge reaches its peak during battle, you can cry. During this time the character awakens and a Guardian manifests. The Guardian follows up the character's attacks, allowing you to unleash a torrent of consecutive blows. Special finishing moves are also available only while awakened.

Carry the burden of karma and grow stronger through tears

After defeating the souls of the dead, thoughts from their final agonies may cling to the screen. Rei can purify these thoughts by crying in her room. The ideas of a girl who has grown by overcoming her inner conflict become Sentiments: equipment you can obtain.

A harsh drama performed with full voices

Against the backdrop of the afterlife, distinctive characters face cruel destinies of their own. Shocking truths emerge as the story advances. Experience their stories through dramatic presentation and fully voiced performances.

The creative team and cast

The scenario is by Naoki Hisaya, with character designs by Riuichi. ntny handles character design and serves as character-modeling lead. Sakuzyo composes the background music, Gemdrops develops the game, SHAFT creates the opening animation, Hajime Ueda provides insert illustrations, and yanaginagi performs the theme song.

The cast includes Reina Kondo, Sayaka Senbongi, Shiori Izawa, Rika Tachibana, Joji Nakata and others.
