A new chapter of Danganronpa begins

The next numbered Danganronpa installment begins, following the second game, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, released in 2012.

In this high-speed deduction-action series, expose contradictions in your opponents’ statements during class trials and uncover the culprits behind murders. Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony introduces a completely original story with an entirely new setting and cast.

With Psycho Cool as its theme, enhanced presentation and numerous new systems arrive on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.

The Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles

At Sai-shu Academy, green ivy creeps across classroom walls and ceilings, and facilities include a hotel that hardly seems part of a school. Its atmosphere differs from Hope’s Peak Academy. A new cast begins a school life of mutual killing.

The government’s special Gifted Program was established to cultivate geniuses nationally. Students considered promising receive privileges such as grants, voting rights and eligibility to stand for election. Those selected for this program are known as Ultimates.

The academy provides research laboratories corresponding to each student’s talent. Its strict school rules are enforced by Exisals, highly mobile humanoid killing machines that punish rule-breakers. Five differently colored machines exist, each piloted by one of the Monokubs.

Enhanced presentation and expression

New methods of expression take advantage of PlayStation 4. The familiar trial, daily-life and investigation sections evolve further, befitting a new numbered installment.

Conversations become more dramatic, heightening the portrayal of characters consumed by suspicion.

Class trials evolve: lie to advance the argument

Class trials previously centered on refuting other members’ contradictory behavior to seek the truth. A new Lie mode lets you deliberately lie to steer an argument in your favor.

During Nonstop Debates, hold the Truth Bullet firing button to change a Truth Bullet into a Lie Bullet with a different meaning. Fire it into a weak point to contradict even a statement that is not itself contradictory.

Mass Panic Debates

A murder trial with everyone’s lives at stake cannot always proceed calmly. When an argument becomes chaotic and participants all speak at once, you must find the contradiction among their simultaneous statements.

Debate Scrums

For the series’ first team-based trial battles, all participants split into two teams and confront each other’s opinions. Match characters discussing the same subject in opposing camps to engage their arguments.

Kaede Akamatsu and sixteen Ultimate students

Protagonist Kaede Akamatsu, voiced by Sayaka Kanda, is cheerful and positive, a dependable organizer with a strong will and the initiative to take the lead and bring everyone together.

Sixteen students become caught in the academy’s killing game, with their character designs presented in the original announcement.

The headmaster and the Monokubs

Monokuma, voiced by TARAKO, is Sai-shu Academy’s headmaster. Monotaro acts as the leader of the Monokubs, five bear-shaped robots that call themselves Monokuma’s children. He tries to organize their often-unmanageable conversations, despite being somewhat childish and clumsy.

Kaede Akamatsu: Sayaka Kanda; Rantaro Amami: Hikaru Midorikawa; Miu Iruma: Haruka Ishida; Kokichi Oma: Hiro Shimono; K1-B0: Tetsuya Kakihara; Gonta Gokuhara: Shunsuke Takeuchi; Shuichi Saihara: Megumi Hayashibara; Tsumugi Shirogane: Mikako Komatsu.
