Story

Ivalice is a kingdom protected by the sun and holy sigils and ruled by the two-headed lion.

A year after its defeat in the Fifty Years' War against neighboring Ordallia, the king dies of illness. The prince who is to inherit the throne is only two years old.

Tensions rise between Duke Goltanna and Duke Larg, two generals renowned for their achievements in the war, as they vie for the position of regent and the power it brings.

Goltanna bears the black lion as his crest; Larg bears the white lion. Their clash will later become known as the War of the Lions.

Ramza is the third son of House Beoulve, one of Ivalice's foremost military families. Delita, born a commoner, was raised alongside him as his childhood friend.

The paths of these two young men are also swept up in the great upheavals of their age.

Battle system

Positioning and planning ahead lead to victory in tense tactical battles.

Use the features of three-dimensional maps with differences in elevation and skillfully manage the order in which individual units act to guide your side to victory.

Builds and character development

Combine numerous jobs and abilities to create a wide variety of tactics.

As characters develop, they gain access to different jobs. Each job teaches distinctive abilities, and learned abilities can be equipped while using other jobs.

Experiment with jobs and hundreds of abilities to create your own strategies.

More than 20 distinctive jobs appear, including Final Fantasy favorites such as White Mage, Black Mage and Dragoon. Recruit monsters such as chocobos and add them to your party as well.
