Final Fantasy XII returns in HD

Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System, which rebuilt the game design and added systems to the twelfth entry in the Final Fantasy series, finally receives an HD edition.

A world of magic and airships

This is a story from an age when magic was part of everyday life and airships filled the skies.

Preparing for the wars to come, the mighty Archadian Empire invades neighboring countries, bringing them under its control one after another. The small kingdom of Dalmasca, where this story begins, suffers the same fate.

Two years after the invasion

A new consul from the Archadian Empire arrives in Rabanastre, Dalmasca’s royal capital.

For Vaan, a young man living in the city’s Lowtown, the Empire is a hated enemy, responsible for taking the life of his brother, his only remaining family.

Vaan devises a plan to embarrass the new consul and sneaks into the palace where he resides, intending to steal a treasure or two.

An unexpected encounter

There, however, Vaan encounters something entirely unexpected: Princess Ashe, heir to Dalmasca’s throne, who was believed to have died during the previous war.

Ashe, the princess who has lost everything; Vaan’s friend Penelo; the sky pirate Balthier and his partner Fran; and Basch, a general of Dalmasca who killed its king, become part of the adventure.

Through the encounters and adventures of its many characters, a story surrounding the mysteries hidden behind the Archadian Empire’s invasion unfolds in Ivalice.
